My Mother, on this special day
That's set aside for you,
I wish that I had so much more
To offer back to you.
I wish my hands were big enough
To take from you your care.
I wish my shoulders wider that
Your burdens I might bare.
I wish that you could see my heart
And how it swells with pride
That I can stand and tell the world,
"This Mother: She is mine!"
What great gifts our God has given!
But Mom, there are so few
That come near to comparing to
The gift I have in you.
